How we replace missing teeth

Implant, implant-supported bridge or All-on-X: what the dentist may suggest

The solution depends on how many teeth are missing, the amount of bone and your general health. The doctor decides after an examination and CT scan – below are the options available at LumiDent.

One tooth

Single implant with a crown

The implant replaces the root and the crown replaces the visible part of the tooth. The neighbouring teeth don't need to be ground down.

Several teeth

Implant-supported bridge

Several missing teeth can be replaced with a bridge supported by two or more implants – without grinding down your own teeth.

from 2 200 PLNabutment crown · pontic 2 000 PLN

All teeth

All-on-X

A fixed full-arch bridge supported by several implants (usually 4–6) in one arch. Treatment is in two stages: surgical and prosthetic.

from 11 800 PLNsurgical stage · fixed prosthesis 19 500 / 21 000 PLN

Not enough bone

Bone grafting and sinus lift

When there isn't enough bone, bone augmentation or a sinus floor lift is carried out before or at the same time as implant placement.

from 2 200 PLNbone augmentation · sinus lift 4 000 PLN

Implant or a bridge on your own teeth?

An implant doesn't require grinding down healthy neighbouring teeth and transfers chewing forces directly to the bone. A bridge can be a good option when the teeth next to the gap need crowns anyway. We compare both solutions in an article on our blog. Implant or bridge – which should you choose?

Who it's for

When to consider dental implants

Implants are usually considered when:

  • one or several teeth are missing and you don't want the neighbouring teeth ground down
  • your removable denture is unstable
  • all the teeth in an arch are missing (All-on-X)

Something else is needed first when:

  • you have uncontrolled diabetes or other general health conditions that need treatment
  • you take certain medicines that affect bone – the doctor will ask about them when taking your medical history
  • you smoke heavily – this increases the risk of complications
  • the upper or lower jawbone hasn't finished growing

Questions

Frequently asked questions about dental implants at LumiDent

How much does a dental implant cost?

Implant placement costs from 2 600 PLN (JDental Care), 2 950 PLN (MegaGen AnyRidge) or 4 600 PLN (Straumann SLA). On top of that comes the implant-supported crown – from 2 200 PLN. The doctor sets out the full cost, including any bone grafting, in the treatment plan after the consultation and CT scan.

How much does an implant with a crown cost?

The cost is the implant placement plus the crown on the implant. For example: a JDental Care implant 2 600 PLN and its crown 2 500 PLN; a Straumann implant 4 600 PLN and its crown 3 000 PLN. A healing screw, CT scan or bone grafting may be added. You get the full cost estimate in your treatment plan after the consultation.

Who places implants at LumiDent?

Three dentists place implants: Orest Shtuka – a dentist in practice since 2000 who works in implantology and oral surgery and also performs bone grafting – and Nikita Kudinov and Rusłan Osmanov, who work in implantology and prosthodontics. All their PWZ licence numbers can be checked in the Polish Central Register of Physicians. Orest Shtuka sees patients in Polish, Ukrainian and Russian.

How do the implants in the price list differ?

At LumiDent we use implants from three manufacturers – their prices are in the price list. They differ in design and price. The dentist chooses the implant after assessing the bone and the planned prosthetic restoration, and explains the differences to the patient.

How long does implant treatment take?

Usually three to six months from implant placement to fitting the crown. Longer if bone grafting or a sinus lift is needed. In some cases the doctor may offer a temporary crown on the day of the procedure.

Does implant placement hurt?

The procedure is done under local anaesthetic, so it usually doesn't hurt during treatment. Swelling and tenderness may occur for a few days afterwards.

Is a CT scan needed before an implant?

Yes, before implant placement the amount and quality of bone are assessed – usually with a cone beam CT (CBCT) scan. You can start with the Premium consultation package (500 PLN): consultation, CBCT analysis, 3D scan and treatment plan.

Are implants suitable for everyone?

Implants can be placed in most adults, but not in everyone. The doctor decides after an examination and imaging. Sometimes treatment is only possible after preparation, for example bone grafting.

What is All-on-X?

All-on-X is a fixed full-arch bridge supported by several implants in one arch – usually four to six. The dentist chooses the number of implants based on the amount of bone and conditions in the mouth. It is used when all the teeth are missing or when the remaining teeth need to be extracted.

Can I be treated under the NFZ?

LumiDent is a private clinic and treatment is paid for according to the price list. You'll know the cost before treatment starts, in a plan with prices. If you have private insurance that covers dental treatment, on request we will issue a document confirming the procedures and payment so you can claim a refund from your insurer.
