Aligners or fixed braces?
Aligners are discreet but require discipline in wearing them. Fixed braces work non-stop and cope well with many complex cases. If you're not sure which to choose, the dentist will answer that question during your orthodontic consultation.

When orthodontic treatment is worth considering
Treatment is usually considered when:
- teeth are crowded or crooked
- there is an overbite, underbite or open bite
- you're planning implants or prosthetics and your teeth need preparing
- you're an adult – age is not a contraindication
Something else is needed first when:
- you have untreated gum (periodontal) disease – it is treated before orthodontics
- you can't wear aligners for most of the day – then aligners aren't the best choice

How much does an orthodontic consultation cost and what happens?
An orthodontic consultation costs 250 PLN. The doctor examines your bite, tells you what she sees and discusses possible solutions: fixed braces, aligners or a removable appliance for a child.
Fixed braces or aligners – which should I choose?
Aligners (clear trays) are discreet and removable but require discipline: they need to be worn for most of the day. Fixed braces work continuously and are well suited to many complex bite problems. The dentist chooses the solution after an examination, taking into account the type of problem and your lifestyle.
How much do braces cost?
Metal fixed braces cost 2 600 PLN per arch, Damon Q self-ligating braces 3 500 PLN and ceramic braces 4 500 PLN. Spark aligners start from 12 400 PLN for both arches. Check-ups (250 / 400 PLN) and retention are added. The dentist gives the full cost after the consultation and records.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Usually from just over a year to more than two years. The time depends on the type of problem, age, type of appliance and how regularly you attend check-ups. The dentist gives a more precise timeframe after taking records and preparing the treatment plan.
Can veneers replace braces?
Veneers change the shape and colour of teeth but do not move them – your bite stays the same, and the enamel usually has to be ground down first. For crooked teeth and bite problems braces are usually the better choice.
Can an adult have their bite corrected?
Yes, orthodontic treatment is possible at any age if the teeth and gums are healthy. Adults often choose aligners or aesthetic braces. Tooth decay and gum disease must be treated before starting.
Do you treat children?
Yes. Mariya Shylovich works with children and adults. For children, as well as fixed braces, removable appliances are used: Schwarz, Twin Block, LM-Activator.
My braces were fitted at another clinic. Can I continue treatment with you?
Yes, we carry out check-ups of fixed braces fitted at other clinics: 300 / 450 PLN (1 arch / 2 arches). Start with a consultation so the dentist can assess the current stage of treatment.
What language is the visit in?
The visit is conducted in Polish. Our clinic staff also speak English, Belarusian, Ukrainian and Russian – when booking, let us know which language you're more comfortable with.
Can I be treated under the NFZ?
LumiDent is a private clinic and treatment is paid for according to the price list. You'll know the cost before treatment starts, in a plan with prices. If you have private insurance that covers dental treatment, on request we will issue a document confirming the procedures and payment so you can claim a refund from your insurer.
